The Beurs van Berlage is a milestone in the history of modern architecture. It is build in the same period as Amsterdam’s Centraal Station and the State Museum, but what is really special about the Beurs, however, is that 80% of it is authentic. The Beurs van Berlage organization is continually restoring spaces to their original state. The most recent example is the Safe Deposits in the basement.

The name of the Allard Pierson Museum derives from the first professor Classical Archaeology at the University of Amsterdam, Allard Pierson. This former clergyman, was invited in 1877 to occupy the chair of Aesthetics, Art History and Modern Languages. Although he collected plaster casts, this collection was not even approaching a real museum. |

Religion, culture and history of the Jews in the Netherlands and its former colonies are the main focus of the museum's collection and the Resource Centre. The museum has over 13,000 works of art, ceremonial items and historical objects. Only five percent of these are on permanent display. The rest are stored in the depot and occasionally shown in exhibitions, or lent to other museums. The objects in this hidden collection can be viewed via the website. The Anne Frank House on the Prinsengracht in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, is a museum dedicated to Jewish wartime diarist Anne Frank, who hid from Nazi persecution with her family and four other people in hidden rooms at the rear of the building. As well as the preservation of the hiding place — known in Dutch as the Achterhuis — and an exhibition on the life and times of Anne Frank, the museum acts as an exhibition space to highlight all forms of persecution and discrimination.
