Peace Palace to celebrate 100-year - The Hague

This year the Peace Palace will celebrate its 100-year anniversary with a series of special events. The events will be geared towards professionals and academics working in the field of international law as well as the public at large, especially all residents of The Hague.

The celebrations will be festive, forward-looking and aim to reach as large an international audience as possible.

The festivities take place from 28 August (the Peace Palace’s birthday) to 21 September 2013 (United Nations International Day of Peace). They will culminate with the Peace Run and the Peace Concert on 21 September.

Registration for the Peace Run has already started. Be sure to register quickly because there are only 12,000 bib numbers available. You can register through the website of the Peace Run.
Peace Concert

The day will be topped off by a huge Peace Concert by top international musicians in the garden of the Peace Palace. The host of the concert is the award-winning English actor and director Jude Law and it will be organised by the non-profit organisation Peace One Day.

Secretary-General of the United Nations  Ban Ki-moon has been invited to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of the Peace Palace on 28 August.
