Visit Holland - The Netherlands

The Maastricht & region visit by 14 (inter)national planners of conventions and corporate meetings during Magical Maastricht this December, was highly rated by the participants.

The Maastricht Convention Bureau, organiser of this so called “site visit” scores 9.1 in “organisation” and 8 (in a scale out of 10) for the programme as offered. “A result to be proud of,”, says Judith Nijssen, Sales Manager Conventions of the Maastricht Convention Bureau.

The Maastricht Convention Bureau organises these site visits in cooperation with its partners. The effect is far more bigger than a meeting at the client’s office or at a fair. Attendees are able to feel, taste and literally see the diverse possibilities when it comes to conventions and meetings. “We have deliberately chosen to let it take place during Magical Maastricht, because the city is even more beautiful with a positive atmosphere than usual,”,  says Judith. “On the occasion of this site visit, there are several attendees who have actually requested a quotation from our participants.”

Site visits are organised to show the city of Maastricht and its region to convention planners. Via the Maastricht Convention Bureau, participants work together to promote Maastricht & region, in The Netherlands and abroad, as a destination for conventions. This way, planners are able to experience the possibilities of the city when it comes to conventions and the region is on their top of minds again as a destination for conventions.”

The many positive reactions the Maastricht Convention Bureau received afterwards proved they succeeded, for example:

“Everywhere we went, people were very friendly and hospitable. Good tours, explanation about the product and all kinds of delicacies. I thought it was very impressive. We will definitely look into more possibilities to use Maastricht. I’m thinking about sending a newsletter next year, all about Maastricht and region.”

“Though we know Maastricht quite well, we revisited several venues, but also made new discoveries. Everything was taken care of perfectly en mostly also surprisingly. I hope we will be able to book in Maastricht again real soon.”

During the site visit, planners get to know Maastricht very well.
